Coaches visit Hong Kong and Thailand with AIA

Coaches from the Club’s Global Coaching programme have visited Hong Kong and Thailand this month as part of continued efforts to develop the game at grassroots level in the Asia-Pacific region, in partnership with AIA.

Nick Hardy and Steve Embleton delivered a series of coaching clinics for a number of different groups, including underprivileged children, across the two countries.

The team worked in partnership with Operation Breakthrough, a Hong-Kong based charity providing sporting opportunities to disadvantaged young people, as well as delivering seminars for participants and coaches from the Hong Kong and Thai Football Associations.

In both countries, the coaches also delivered coaching for AIA employees and their families, and members of two of our Official Supporters Clubs - Hong Kong Spurs and Spurs Thailand.

Coaching methods were based around the same world-renowned philosophy developed within the Club’s Academy that has produced the likes of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason and Tom Carroll.

Nick Hardy said: “The recent coaching programme in Hong Kong and Thailand was a huge success. Together with AIA, we are keen to make a positive impact on the development of football in the region. We had a great reception from everyone out there and it is great to see how the popularity of the Club continues to grow on the other side of the world."
