Club Scoops Award for Best Non-Match Day Use of Venue
06 November 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
We are delighted to announce that the Club was named winner of Best Non-Match Day Use of Venue at this year’s Football Business Awards for its work in using White Hart Lane as a hub to host Jobs Fairs to help local people find employment.
In the past year, the Club has held eight Jobs Fairs at the Lane, attracting over 3,000 local people and delivering 3,161 employment opportunities.
Using links with over 250 local and national partners, including Stansted Airport, Whittington Hospital and the British Hospitality Association, as well as links to government, the Club has used its iconic venue within the heart of the community to drive employment opportunities for Haringey residents as part of a commitment to be there for the community 365 days per year, not just on match days.
Over 90 employers have been attracted to our Jobs Fairs, including Premier Inn, Costa, Hilton Hotels, Sainsbury’s, Barclays, Apex Hotels and Centerplate, offering live job vacancies.
The Big Hospitality Conversation – a hospitality themed careers fair run at the Lane – became the most successful event of its kind for the British Hospitality Association. Over 1,000 job seekers from London attended the event, where employers pledged 2,130 job or training opportunities for people living in North London.
The Foundation’s Employment and Skills team complement the job vacancies on offer at these events by running employment workshops offering job seekers support with such things as CV writing and interview techniques.
