Club form Spurs on England stars

Our England stars quickly turned their attention to club matters after a memorable night at Wembley this week.
Dele Alli and Eric Dier made their first senior starts for the Three Lions and Harry Kane put in another fine display on an emotional night against France where Hugo Lloris was dignity personified in captaining his country after the sad events in Paris last Friday.
Dele grabbed the headlines and attention of the world's media with a stunning strike to open the scoring and was then involved in the move that led to Wayne Rooney's goal as England ran out 2-0 winners.
All three players were quick to point out that the competition for places back at Spurs was the driving force behind their individual form and international selection.
Dele said: "We’ve a great team at Spurs at the moment and we’re all pushing each other. As long as we’re all fighting for places and we’re all playing well then hopefully it will be a great season for us."
Eric, who earned his first cap against Spain last week, was delighted to line-up alongside team-mate Dele: "We’ve enjoyed ourselves recently, playing game after game and it was great to play alongside Dele here again. Hopefully we’ll keep playing and keep performing."
"Good things are happening," said Harry. "Kyle Walker and Ryan Mason were in the England squad as well and now we’ll all go back and keep performing for the club. There is a lot of healthy competition for places."
Harry, who scored on his England debut at Wembley in March, added: "I just told Dele to keep doing what he’s been doing all season at Spurs, to go out there and enjoy it, to show everyone what he can do and he did that. He was outstanding."
