Clive's reserve review

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The fifth and final review of our reserve team squad's displays last season with coach Clive Allen.

Clive's men won six games on the trot in October and November and lost successive matches only once on our way to fifth place in the Barclays Reserve League South.

Jamie O’Hara (18 appearances)
Clive Allen: "Jamie’s a very ambitious lad with a lot of talent and we saw that in the games he played for the reserves. He needs to be stretched. If you put him into a first team session he’s a bright and bubbly as anyone in the football club. He has potential to go possibly to the top but he needs to understand that he needs to be patient, to improve parts of his game next season and it’s a big season ahead for him."

Rohan Ricketts (8 apps, 1 goal)
Clive: "A maverick, a character, talented, frustrating. A coach's nightmare and I say that in the best possible way. He’s such a talented individual and he could be a world beater but he goes to the extremes — at times I was pulling my hair out, but that’s Rohan. He always gave everything for us and at the same time, drove us mad!"

Eddie Silva Sousa (14 apps, 6 goals)
Clive: "I think he found the physical side of the game difficult but showed he could score goals. At times he was frustrating because he could show more in training than in games. He’s gone away, done okay and I think he will be suited more to Eurpean football, rather than England. He fitted into the group well though, a decent lad and hopefully he’s better for the experience.

Jamie Slabber (7 apps, 4 goals)
Clive: "Slabs had a diffcult time. He did have some opportunities that he might look back on and think he didn’t take as he might have wanted to but he’s moved on. He didn’t make the progress that some people would have hoped for, especially having played first team football so young, but I’ve spoken to him and he’s determined to improve and go forward. It might be a situation where he takes a couple of steps back to move forward. I wish him well."

Mark Yeates (22 apps, 4 goals)
Clive: "There is a bucket full of talent there and it’s just how we get it out on a consistent level. At times he was sensational for the reserves but he could also be frustrating. At times Martin has considered him for first team football and he can go forward in a massive way, or, like many players, he’ll stand still and everyone will know he’s a fanastic player who couldn’t produce it to the level required to establish himself here. He has an abundance of talent and hopefully he can produce it."
