Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Clive Allen described himself as 'thrilled' following his appointment as Development Team coach last week.
The prolific former striker worked with the younger players at the club for a spell last season on a temporary basis following the departure of Colin Calderwood to Northampton.
He now gets the chance to continue attempting to progress the careers of the youngsters and, it is fair to say, he couldn't be more pleased over being given the opportunity.
"I am absolutely thrilled with the appointment and I now continue to work with the young professionals at the club that I had the pleasure of working with last season," reacted Clive.
"I feel there will now be a continuity in terms of the work that I started and I am thoroughly looking forward to the new season.
"It is perfect for me, with the chance I had last season, it was always my hope when that came to an end that I could continue. Obviously there has been changes at the club but, having spoken with the chairman over the summer, he outlined the plans for the future and I am so excited to be part of that."
Clive explained that the development squad will focus very much on the young players and graduates from the Academy and reported a meeting of like minds with new Sporting Director Frank Arnesen.
"I was pleased to meet Frank. We discussed, first and foremost, the football and the way he feels things should move forward at the club. There was a lot of common ground in the way were thinking and the idea of a development squad is more along the lines of a continental type system.
"The reserve team group will be predominantly the younger professionals, while Jacques Santini and Martin Jol will work with a squad of senior professionals who will form the first team squad.
"It will be important for me and the young players to produce good performances and progress rapidly to provide the opportunity for them to move onto the first team group."
