Clive on the new boys
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Clive Allen offered his verdict on two of our new boys following the reserve draw against Crystal Palace on Monday - and the signs look positive.
Reto Ziegler started his first game for the club since joining from Grasshopper Zurich, featuring down our left flank to good effect and the Development Coach feels we have a promising prospect in our ranks.
"He has quality, he's got a wonderful left foot and had a couple of long-range strikes," reflected Clive on the 18-year-old.
"For his first game he fitted in well and gave us good balance on the left hand side.
"I think he is a good prospect, with the quality he has got in that left foot, once he gets accustomed to the way we play and gets used to the lads, he will do well."
Spase Dilevski replaced Simon Davies on 65 minutes for his opening appearance in our colours and Clive suspects, along with Reto, he will offer some desired width to our play.
"I thought he did well, he came into the right side of midfield and got involved quickly and could have scored the winning goal with a fine strike just off target.
"He is a wide player and that is something we're looking to introduce into the club again, some width, and he will do it on the right hand side as Reto will on the left.
"He is a good athlete, can certainly get up and down the right side and I think he gives us options. There is lots of competition for places, all the lads are looking at it and realising they've got to perform to get games."
Meanwhile, Clive was delighted with the contribution of Davies as he topped up his fitness following his return to action as sub against Norwich on Sunday.
"You know when Simon plays he is always going to give his best, he is a quality footballer.
"He did need the game, he said to me that near the end of the time he played that he did feel tired, the legs weren't doing exactly what he wanted.
"I felt in the time he was involved he showed the quality he has."
