Clem back on track
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Stephen Clemence hopes to be back in training within the next few weeks after receiving further treatment on his Achilles injury.
The midfielder has missed out on the campaign so far after sustaining the injury on the mid-summer training camp in La Manga. It has been a frustrating period for the 24-year-old - who missed virtually the whole of last season - but he can now see light at the end of the tunnel.
"I had an injection about nine days ago and had to rest during that time and it's my first day back in today," said Clem at Spurs Lodge.
"I'm trying to get things going again, build the muscles up and hopefully this treatment will do the trick.
"I've been out for about a 20 minute walk to help strengthen the muscles around the Achilles and I hope to start jogging towards the end of the week maybe.
"I hope, if this works, to be back training in the next two or three weeks - which is normally the case with the injection I've had.
"To be honest, at the minute, I just want to get back training. I haven't set a target of any games.
"It's been over three months with this now and it's obviously got me down at times considering the problems I had last year. I just want to get out training with the boys again.
"Once I do that I'll start looking at games again. It's hard to be patient as you want to get back out there as quick as you can, but I'll go with the advice of the medical people."
After missing most of last season, Clem returned to the fold for the stirring win over Liverpool in the final home game and the unfortunate defeat to Leicester.
"After the disappointment of last year, to come back and do well in the last two games was nice. Hopefully I'll be back out there playing in the not too distant future."
