Two 4-0 results, two contrasting performances - but Mauricio Pochettino says last week is history as we face Manchester City at the Etihad this evening.
There was certainly plenty of column inches and air time devoted to both matches as we toppled West Brom last Saturday and City fell to defeat at Everton.
Did those performances and current form matter today? "The past is in the past, we will play a different game and every game is different," said Mauricio.
Below: Mauricio speaks to Spurs TV
"It’s always important to be ready and focused. This is a new game, new motivation, a different environment. For us, it’s important to keep our momentum, our focus and to be ready to compete.
"In the Premier League, every game is 90 minutes where you need to be ready to fight and focus. It’s impossible to go to sleep for a moment because the quality that we have in the Premier League is very high."
Where the past does matter, as Mauricio points out, is where our young squad learns from experiences - including winning 2-1 at City in another crunch match last season.
"Those experiences must help us," he added. "It’s important the experiences in life are used positively. If you are clever, it’s always a good thing to learn.
"Every game is different, every game has different circumstances and a little percentage you can’t control and it’s for that reason you always have to be ready and to be focused to arrive in a position to give your best - and we arrive at City in a good moment.
"It will be a great game and a tough game, difficult for both teams. Manchester City are a very good team with a great manager, great players. We are in a similar position in the table and it will be exciting.
"It’s a big, big opportunity to show that we can compete again against a big team."
