City U21s vs Spurs - Ugo's preview
14 August 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Under-21s Coach Ugo Ehiogu has called for concentration from our youngsters as we travel to Manchester City in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League today (Friday, August 14).
Buoyed by a fine 4-1 win at home to Everton in Monday’s season opener, we head to the City Football Academy looking for another good performance in our first Under-21s away game of 2015-16.
However, Ugo has warned that winning the match will be no easy task against a strong City side.
“Every time we play against Manchester City they ask a lot of questions of us,” he said ahead of the 1pm kick-off.
“They’re an extremely aggressive, forward-thinking team and that requires a lot of concentration from our midfield and defence in particular.
“But we’ve proven our ability to score goals and we need to make sure we show our bravery and our intent to win the game.”
Ugo confirmed there will be changes to the side that lined up against the Toffees, with Hugo Lloris and Alex Pritchard now back with the first team and some Development Squad players going out on loan.
“It’s always pleasing when other clubs are asking for our players on loan,” he said. “Ideally we want the boys to push on and play senior football, whether that’s through the loan system or here at the Club with the first team."
