Christian's target

Sat 25 October 2014, 11:09|Tottenham Hotspur

Christian Eriksen is keen to avoid a repeat of last season’s home result against Newcastle United when we take on the Magpies on Sunday.

Visiting goalkeeper Tim Krul kept us at bay last year with a string of stops as his side inflicted a 1-0 defeat on us at White Hart Lane.

But, having scored two goals in his last two Premier League games, Danish midfielder Christian is confident we’ll be able to scoop maximum points after suffering a 4-1 defeat at Manchester City in our last top flight encounter.

“Newcastle won last week, which will have lifted their confidence, and they will want to build on that, while we lost so we’ll be looking to hit back immediately. Both sides will want the points,” said the 22-year-old.

“I remember the match here against them last season when Tim Krul had one of the games of his life. We created so many chances but just couldn’t get past him that day.

“Hopefully he won’t have another game like that – but even if he does, hopefully we can put at least one of our chances past him this time and win the game.”
