Christian Ziege nominates midfielder Michael Ballack as the man who will carry the outfield threat for Germany in the World Cup finals.
The Bayer Leverkusen star has made a huge impact this season and has caught the eye of many in providing the cut and thrust of his team's charge to the Champions League final. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United will need no reminding of his talents - which will be on show at Bayern Munich next season.
Christian feels that Ballack is a player that will thrive in the environment of a big tournament and give Germany a cutting edge in midfield.
"Definitely. If he continues playing the same football that he has been recently for Leverkusen. He will help the whole team and is a fantastic player. He has everything, pace, power and shooting ability. It could be made for him."
Christian also tips an often criticised striker to find his way to the head of the leading scorers list.
"I think we have players that will surprise the people in Germany, ones they maybe do not expect to make a major impact.
"Carsten Jancker from Bayern Munich is playing well and he will be one of the top scorers in the World Cup.
"He is good and can change a lot for us. If he plays in the team it will help us."
While Jancker is assigned the task of boosting the 'goals for' column, an extremely imposing figure will be jealously protecting against damaging statistics at the other end.
"From my point of view Oliver Kaan is definitely the best goalkeeper in the world," insists Christian. "To have someone like him in goal in a tournament like this is great.
"He could be one of the main reasons to win something, he can save you in ways less strong goalkeepers than him can't."
There is every chance that, if Kaan is in mean mode, a Germany goal could well result in a Germany win.
"Yes," he agrees. "And there is nothing to worry about because he very rarely has bad games."
