Christian wary of Qarabag home form

Christian Eriksen expects a “totally different” test to that which we encountered in our home clash with Qarabag when we take on the Azerbaijani side in Baku this evening (Thursday, November 26).
We beat tonight’s opponents 3-1 at White Hart Lane in our Europa League Group J opener back in September – and a repeat of that result this time around would secure a top two finish in the group and thus seal qualification for the round of 32 with one game to spare.
Qarabag are certainly no pushovers on home soil, though. They’ve beaten Anderlecht 1-0 and drawn 1-1 with Monaco in their two home games in the group stage so far, while they also triumphed 3-0 against Young Boys in the home leg of their play-off round encounter.
Christian knows they’ll believe they can add to that record with a positive result against us tonight and has highlighted the need to take our chances if we’re to emerge victorious.
“It’s going to be a very difficult game,” said the Danish international midfielder. “They’re playing at home where they’ve had some very good results against the other teams in the group, so it will be a totally different game to when we played them at White Hart Lane.
“Hopefully, though, we’ll do like we did at our place and score from the chances we have. If we keep playing with the same confidence that we’ve shown recently then hopefully we’ll be alright.
“We really want to get the job done in this group as soon as possible. We didn’t get the result we wanted against Anderlecht away and so we know we need to get some points this time. We don’t want to let this opportunity slip because we know we can qualify before the last game, which would be great.”
