Christian takes centre stage

Christian Eriksen is relishing the responsibility of making the team tick from central midfield.
Tim Sherwood has started the Danish playmaker central in a 4-4-2 system against Southampton and West Brom and Cristian responded with his first Premier League goal in the Boxing Day draw against the Baggies, a superb free-kick.
“It’s my favourite position, I like playing there, getting the ball, trying to dictate the game,” said Christian.
“That’s what the coach wants me to do and I’m trying hard. I’m a player who is better with the ball than without the ball, so I enjoy it in there."
Tim said: "He’s a player with the quality to be able to control the tempo of the game. I thought he was very good in the second half against West Brom and capped a great overall performance with a fantastic strike for the free-kick."
Christian is looking to pull the strings again against Stoke on Sunday, and he expects another tough encounter.
"Every team that comes here wants to prove a point, they come here not to lose, every team has five or six defenders," he said.
"We have to open the game up and score the goals. We had the chances to score against West Brom and if we’d managed to score, it would have been an easier game to win. We have to keep working hard and we’ll get our chances."
