Christian ready to renew Klopp rivalry

Christian Eriksen is determined to give Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool a run for their money on Saturday after the German boss got the better of his Ajax side in 2012.
The midfielder twice lined up for the Dutch giants against Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund in the group stage of the Champions League three seasons ago – and both times came up short, with Dortmund winning 1-0 at home and 4-1 at Ajax’s Amsterdam ArenA.
Recently appointed by the Reds, Klopp brings his new team to White Hart Lane for his first game in charge this weekend, but Christian, who was joined in the Ajax line-up by Toby Alderweireld in both the aforementioned games, wants to ensure we don’t suffer the same fate against him as Ajax did previously.
“It’s really exciting – a big game for us,” said the 23-year-old ahead of our return to Premier League action after the international break.
“We have to keep doing what we’ve been doing and hopefully we’ll enjoy a really nice game against Liverpool.
“Klopp is a good manager, he has a charisma about him – I even saw that on the sidelines back then (playing for Ajax) when he was with Dortmund.
“He had been doing really well there and I think he showed how good he is, but of course it’ll be different at Liverpool and it’ll be the first game for him this weekend so all their players will want to show what they can do.
“He probably has his ideas but hopefully we’ll show what we’re capable of and give Liverpool a really good game. We’ll want to score some goals and be as good defensively as we have been in the last few games.”
