Christian leads the way!

Fresh from leading out Denmark on his 50th international appearance, Christian Eriksen is back at the Training Centre and targeting a positive run-in to the end of the season.
The skilful midfielder was afforded the chance to skipper the Danish side in last week’s friendly against the USA to celebrate his half-century on the international stage.
And after providing the assist for Nicklas Bendtner's late winner in what turned out to be a 3-2 victory for his side, the 23-year-old says he’s determined to have a similarly key influence on our own endeavours in the last eight games of the Premier League season.
“It’s always exciting to play for my national team and to already have 50 caps is very pleasing,” reflected Christian, who also played in a 2-0 defeat to France on Sunday.
“Now we have a really big game against Burnley coming up. We have eight finals to go and we want to finish the season well.
“I have a personal goals target for the season but it’s in my head and that’s where it’s staying!
“Really I just want to help the team and, as we’ve always said, it doesn’t matter who scores the goals – as long as the ball ends up in the net, we’re happy!”
While he’s fully focused on our trip to Turf Moor on Sunday, the significance of his 50-game milestone in a Denmark shirt is not lost on the former Ajax man.
“I’m very lucky to have had the chance to get to 50 caps,” he added. “It was really special to achieve that and to lead the team out. The manager asked me if I wanted to be captain and of course you don’t say no!
“Naturally, he said it was only for one time but I have a 100 per cent record as captain so I’m happy with that!
“You also have to give a speech when reaching 50 caps and there is a lot of pride in doing that in front of everyone.
“That was probably where I felt the most nervous but I’m just happy to play for my national team and lucky to have the chance to have already played 50 games.”
