Christian Eriksen wore a telling smile as he reflected on another two assists as we toppled Fulham 3-1 on Saturday.
“For the second (assist, third goal) I really went for goal, but luckily Younes was there,” admitted the in-form Danish international.
It was suggested players normally keep those trade secrets to themselves. “It’s okay, we scored,” he added.
Christian gave another master display of dead ball delivery to provide goals on a plate for Paulinho to open the scoring on 35 minutes and then Younes Kaboul to give the team a two-goal cushion at 3-1 on 62 minutes.
In-between, Steve Sidwell levelled at 1-1 just two minutes after Paulinho’s opener and Harry Kane glanced home from another fine cross, this time from Aaron Lennon, for the crucial second goal three minutes into the second half.
“It was a good team performance,” added Christian.
“We showed good spirit, of course we started well, better than recent games, so that’s a big plus and we did well to come back after Fulham made it 1-1. Normally, we shouldn’t give away a goal like that but we kept fighting and turned it around.
“They were waiting for mistakes and we didn’t make any in the second half, we kept pressing and another two goals were enough.”
Christian has been in outstanding form of late and his two assists took his tally to seven goals and nine assists in 22 appearances in the Premier League this term.
“I’m really happy about what’s happening and with my development,” he added. “I love playing, I’ve got the chance to improve and I’m having fun.”
