Chris on City slickers

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton feels that the added support Manchester City receive at the City of Manchester Stadium will help make them a greater force in the game than before.

We make our first trip to the new arena on Sunday in front of the live television cameras and travelling fans and viewers will be anticipating an attacking encounter of the end-to-end variety - a prediction that Chris goes along with.

"I think Kevin's side will always generally be that way, but this one are a good side," said Chris of the fact that while City are a positive side, they do allow the opposition to play. "As a club and as a team they have made progress from last season and the one before.

"The fact they are in a new stadium and getting very, very big crowds makes them an even bigger force. I think they will continue to make progress over the next couple of seasons."

It has been the case - and hopefully on this occasion - with the introduction of spectacular new stadia that the visiting team can be inspired by the surroundings to the detriment of the home side.

"I think there is always that factor, but your home is always your home. If you are a good side you will generally win the majority of your home games - that doesn't really change.

"It will be fabulous for us to go there and play in such a great environment, but it will be a very difficult game for us."

The Sky Sports cameras are obviously attracted to the prospect of a classic goal-packed fixture, but Chris says our rearguard must carry on the good work from Coventry where the team secured a second clean sheet of the season.

"I'd like to think they've made a good pick. If it's a game where there are going to be goals then we certainly hope they go in their net as opposed to ours. That was a pleasing factor in midweek - we kept a clean sheet. It was something that was very important to us.

"Going into a difficult away game as we are against City, defensively we feel we've got to be right."
