Children in need

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Tottenham Hotspur’s community scheme linked up with 12 local schools to raise £1,023 for the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.

The schools attended White Hart Lane to join in the fun and children paid £1 to their schools to take part in a raffle for a signed Tottenham shirt.

All children that attended took part in a six-a-side tournament run throughout the day, and were taken on a tour of White Hart Lane stadium.

They all received a Tottenham Hotspur Football in the Community t-shirt, supported by Railtrack, who also provided free transportation for the kids.

The Prince of Wales School were the winners of the morning six-a-side contest and the Lavender School took the honours in the afternoon competition.

McDonalds, our new partners of the scheme, supported the day with prizes for the winning teams, and they also assisted by having face painters here on the day.

Players and staff also helped to raise funds by taking part in a raffle.

The 12 schools involved were Lavender, Prince of Wales, Hazlewood, Forres, Lea Valley, Lancasterian, Risley, Devonshire Hill, George Spicer, Brettenham, Latymer All Saints and St Paul’s All Hallows.
