Chicago Spurs in festive toy drive

Wed 24 December 2014, 07:58|Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs fans in Chicago delivered some festive cheer to patients at the University of Illinois Chicago's (UIC) Children's Hospital by donating more than $1,000 worth of gifts this week.

Members of Chicago Spurs, one of our official Supporters' Clubs, held their second annual 'toy drive' between December 11 and December 20, with generous donors gifting in excess of 100 toys for children and teens of a variety of ages.

The presents were delivered to staff at the UIC Children's Hospital – where our first team players took part in a similar exercise during our summer tour – by Chicago Spurs board members on Monday.

They'll now be divided up into gift bags and presented to the children for the holiday season.

"Many of the children supported at UIC face some very serious illnesses and the gifts provided by Chicago Spurs helped to brighten their time in the hospital," said Brendan Sullivan, Chairman of Chicago Spurs.

"The board of Chicago Spurs would like to thank all Chicago Spurs members, Spurs fans who participated in the drive, the Atlantic Bar for co-hosting the event, unaffiliated toy donors, and the team at UIC for the terrific experience."
