Chicago Fire vs Spurs - Mauricio's preview

Sat 26 July 2014, 19:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino is positive going into the final match of our North America Tour against Chicago Fire - in a city that holds fond memories for him.

We take on the MLS side at Toyota Park in a 7pm kick-off local time on Saturday night - 1am on Sunday morning back in the UK. Watch live via the Spurs TV Tour Pass.

We've had two thoroughly enjoyable friendlies so far, kicking-off with a 3-3 draw against Seattle in front of over 55,000 fans and another sell-out crowd was treated to a five-goal thriller in Toronto on Wednesday when Erik Lamela struck twice and Andros Townsend fired home a fine late winner.

Andros, Erik and Kyle Walker have all returned from long-term injury on this Tour. "It’s very positive," said Mauricio. "It’s important for them to be back to full health going into the season.

"We’re playing some of the best teams in the MLS and we expect another tough game.

"It’s the last game on our Tour, we hope our fans will enjoy it and we expect another good performance."

Mauricio had a message for our fans. "Thank-you very much for your support, it’s been important to us throughout our Tour of North America."

Meanwhile, Mauricio reminisced about a visit to Chicago with the Argentinian national team back in 1999.

"It was 15 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. We played at Soldier Field and it’s good to come back again, I have good memories from 15 years ago and Saturday will be a special day for me."
