Cherry nice for Jamie
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jamie Redknapp had little time to reflect at AFC Bournemouth's splendid Fitness First Stadium on Thursday night.
The midfielder cut his teeth in professional football as a teenager on the South Coast 12 years ago.
Jamie made his league debut in January 1989 as 16-year-old, signed professional forms that summer and played 21 games for the Cherries before Liverpool came calling just months into the 1990-91 season.
Dean Court, as it was, has changed a lot since those days but although delighted to be back on his old stomping ground, Jamie was already looking forward to the weekend when we caught up with him after our 1-0 win.
"It's a lovely stadium and it was a good game," reflected Jamie after his 45-minute stint. "I thought Bournemouth played really well.
"I had a nice reception but to be honest, I only really played a few games down here. It was 12 years ago now. The place has changed a lot.
"The game was okay for me. It was ideal fitness-wise but I need a few more matches.
"I felt a little tired but everyone's the same and the more games we play, the fitter we'll get. I'm looking forward to the weekend now."
Jamie should feature again in either one or both of our friendlies against Gillingham on Saturday and QPR on Sunday.
"I'm enjoying pre-season," he added. "There are plenty of friendlies and the last three will be good. I just want to get a bit fitter and sharper but that will come.
"It's such a good club here, a great move for me and I just want to stay fit and do well next season."
