Chelsea's Conte: 'We must be focused and try to do our best against Tottenham'

Antonio Conte says there will be no excuses from the Chelsea camp as he prepares his Blues side for battle at Wembley on Sunday.
Red cards for Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas during Chelsea's opening-day defeat to Burnley, coupled with a handful of injuries, have left Conte's squad stretched during this early part of the campaign.
But the former Italy boss says his team will need to put that to one side and channel all their energies into what he expects to be a tough test against us in our first home Premier League game at the national stadium.
"We must be focused on the pitch, on the game and try to do our best against Tottenham and not find excuses, but only focus on the game," he said.
"It can happen during a game to receive two red cards and I think a great club like Chelsea must be prepared for this situation. For sure at this moment it’s not simple, it’s not easy but we must be strong to face this situation.
"I repeat it’s very important not to find an excuse, about this moment. It’s important to continue to work, it’s important everyone gives 150 per cent, and then we can solve the situation."
Conte appeared to receive a boost this week with the news that summer signing from Monaco, Tiemoue Bakayoko, is nearing fitness and could feature on Sunday.
"Bakayoko is improving very well," he added. "He is not at the top physical condition but I think he could be in contention for the game. The situation is not easy in this moment. At this moment I don’t have other midfielders available. I have to make a difficult decision, but Bakayoko could be in contention for the game against Tottenham, why not?"
