Kieran McKenna has indicated that a number of younger players could get their chance as our Under-18s head to Chelsea for a league game on Saturday.
A hectic period of fixtures continues apace with a trip to the Blues in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League – the sixth game in less than three weeks for our Academy side.
A handful of Under-16s players have made their debuts at the higher level in recent times and, with such a high volume of matches to come, Under-18s Coach Kieran says that trend could continue this weekend.
“Obviously we’ve had a lot of games lately and with an important month of fixtures coming up, we’ll look to rotate our squad on Saturday and we might bring in some more of the Under-16s to give them an opportunity at this level,” he said.
“Regardless of what team we put out, it’s a game that we’re really looking forward to. Every time we go across to Chelsea we always get a high-quality game.”
Kick-off at Chelsea’s Cobham Training Centre is at 11am. Follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial to keep up to date.
