Chelmsford 1-4 Spurs XI - Ramsey's reaction

Chris Ramsey explained that Tuesday night’s friendly against Chelmsford City was just as taxing for our Spurs XI team as Friday’s night Barclays U21 Premier League opener at Chelsea.
The Conference South team certainly put up a fight for the first hour before a quickfire double from Shaq Coulthirst completed his hat-trick and put us out of sight at 4-1, and that’s how it stayed at Melbourne Stadium.
Shaq opened the scoring in the 13th minute but City, managed by Dean Holdsworth and including two former Spurs trainees in Tommy Forecast and Mark Hughes, levelled four minutes later.
Darren McQueen headed home for 2-1 on 27 minutes and having dominated possession, Shaq’s quick one-two on 71 and 73 minutes saw us home.
“You have wily old professionals who have been in the game a long time, they all know what they are doing, there is more of a physical element to these matches and obviously, they all want to win as well, so they can be very difficult,” reported Chris, our Senior Professional Phase Coach.
“We had a younger team out and I’m very happy with the way we played. The hardest thing is to keep going and keep doing the right things when you are winning by such a margin and creating so many chances. It’s all about staying professional and they did that.”
Chris and the squad now turn their attention to Monday’s clash against Manchester City in the Barclays U21 Premier League.
