Chas and Dave to join Winks and Spurs Ladies at half-time on Sunday
12 May 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Chas and Dave, the musical act synonymous with some of White Hart Lane’s glory years, will be making an appearance at their spiritual home on Sunday.
The duo will take part in an interview in front of the fans at half-time in what will be a first public appearance since Chas was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus in February.
Chas is thankfully on the mend and, although he is awaiting medical clearance to begin performing again, the pair will be speaking as part of our Finale celebrations on the day.
Chas and Dave wrote themselves into Club folklore during the 1980s, performing popular Spurs-themed hits such as ‘Ossie’s Dream’ and ‘Hot Shot Tottenham’, as well as a version of ‘Glory, Glory Hallelujah’ that is still to this day played at the final whistle when the team is victorious.
Also at half-time, Harry Winks will thank this season’s ballboys and ballgirls by handing out certificates and saying a few words on what has been a breakthrough season for the young midfielder.
A lifelong Spurs fan, ‘Winksy’ created his own special White Hart Lane memory in November, scoring on his full Premier League debut in a 3-2 victory over West Ham.
The 21-year-old made 21 appearances in total during the campaign before sustaining a season-ending ankle injury during our 2-0 win at Burnley last month.
Spurs Ladies manager Karen Hills, alongside two of her star players, will also be speaking on what has been a trophy-laden season for her team.
The campaign has seen the Ladies clinch the FA Women’s Premier League South title at the Lane, the League Cup and the Boux Avenue Cup.
