Changing faces

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Gus Poyet faces an almost unrecognisable Chelsea from the one he left behind for the Lane just over two years ago.

His era - the likes of de Goey, Flo, Zola, Leboeuf and Wise - are gone and replaced by the Russian revolution of Crespo, Duff, Geremi, Makelele, Bridge, Mutu and Veron.

"It's unbelievable," smiled Gus at Spurs Lodge. "Everyone was saying before the summer that it was going to be quiet, not many moves, difficult for teams to get players and then Roman Abramovic arrived at Chelsea and changed all that.

"I think it is good for English football, good for Chelsea but no so good for everyone else!

"I think Mutu will give them something different, Veron will settle quickly because of the Italians there and the language and that will help him and the one I always look at is Duff, who is so quick, runs with the ball and can cause problems.

"After that Geremi, I've always seen him play wide but he's played well centrally and Makelele, he was magnificent at Real Madrid. We'll see how he gets on here.

"But we saw last time against Blackburn that they are not unbeatable and we will go there and try to win the game.

"We won't fear them though and sometimes this can act as motivation. I think it's a good time to play them at Stamford Bridge as well because they won't have gelled yet. We will have a go, that's for sure."
