Central perks

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton looks at the key central areas at both ends of the pitch for Newcastle's biggest strengths going into Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final.

Alan Shearer continues to score goals - he's now on 250 in the Premier League and grabbed his 16th of the season in Newcastle's 3-1 win in the UEFA Cup against Olympiakos on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Jean-Alain Boumsong appears to have made a huge impact since arriving from Rangers in January.

"I don't necessarily think he's the sole reason why they've turned around, that has to be down to the manager," reasoned Chris. " But he's certainly one of the key reasons.

"If you bring in one important player others can feed off it. Bramble is a very good player, very strong and sometimes as a centre-forward or centre-half, you just want the consistency of playing with someone to build the understanding and at this moment, they have that.

"With Shearer it's about concentration, awareness and being physically tough because one aspect that makes him one of the best all-round forwards we've seen in recent years as well as his goalscoring attributes, is he's such a tough individual,

"He's very physical and for someone who isn't six foot two or three, he jumps so well in the air and will score goals with his head and has a strong, physical presence about him.

"You've got to match him, concentration levels have to be good because it's not just about Shearer, it's about who he plays with as well, Ameobi or Kluivert.

"One thing's for sure though, give Shearer one or two opportunities and he will score one or two goals."
