Celebrating International Persons with Disabilities Day
01 December 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Tomorrow is also International Persons with Disabilities Day, celebrated around the world every year on December 3 to promote inclusivity for people with disabilities or impairments across the globe as one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
At half-time during tomorrow’s match, we will hear about how the Club engages with fans and local residents with disabilities or impairments - from striving to improve the matchday experience home and away, to providing opportunities in sport, education and employment through the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.
The Club works closely alongside the Tottenham Hotspur Disabled Supporters’ Association (THDSA) in planning and delivering accessible facilities, ticketing and travel - we continue to be the only Premier League Club to have an access liaison steward travel to all away games with our disabled access fans.
Within our local community, the Foundation has a proven track record of providing life changing opportunities for people with disabilities and impairments, and through its innovative projects is able to engage with approximately 350 disabled people on a weekly basis through sports and physical activity, education and employability programmes.
