Caulker eyes another first
Steven Caulker is looking for the perfect end to the week in which he's earned his first full England cap and scored his first England goal with a first appearance for Spurs at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The defender became the club's third-youngest full England cap (20 years, 321 days) and youngest England goalscorer when he put the Three Lions ahead in Wednesday's friendly in Sweden. Zlatan Ibrahimovic eventually inspired the hosts to a 4-2 win.
Now Steven is targeting Arsenal in tomorrow's 12.45pm kick-off - as his short career goes full circle.
He made his full Spurs debut as a 19-year-old against the Gunners in a League Cup tie at the Lane in September, 2010.
That match ended 1-1 before Arsenal won 4-1 in extra time. "It was a massive game for me," recalled Steven, who played at the Emirates for Swansea during his loan spell last season.
"I was buzzing, obviously nervous as it was my first derby and my first time in a Spurs shirt. I don’t think games come much bigger than that, to be honest.
"It was amazing to feature in the win against United away this season, but that was on a par for me and a great memory.
"It would be a little surreal for me, just over two years later, to play Arsenal again this time in a Spurs shirt. It's something I've always wanted to do."
