Carry on Carrick
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Michael Carrick pretty much rejected the notion that the international break provided a welcome one for him - he would rather be playing.
He did concede that it would be fair to assume he was in need of a breather. After all, the elegant midfielder has started all but one of our last 26 games since coming into the team for the Carling Cup clash at Burnley. The only one he missed was the FA Cup replay at Nottingham Forest.
"Maybe you could say that, but it is a bit frustrating when you train and you haven't got a game at the end of it," responded Michael to the question of whether it was a well deserved break. "That is the way it goes and, in some ways, it gives your mind a bit of a rest and you can recuperate for the next game.
"It will be a busy April for us and we need to be ready for it."
The 23-year-old did agree, however, that the period of playing inactivity will have done his body some good.
"I suppose in that sense it is good to give the legs a break, but it always seems so long until the next game during these spells. It is a strange time, especially when you have been used to games coming thick and fast.
"It has probably done us the world of good though and will give us more hunger for the next game.
"It is strange, we have been training with the reserves and younger lads - but that is the way it goes when you are left behind.
"In some ways it does feel like you are missing out, that is the way it is if you are not with your national squad, you've just got to train and it is not a problem."
