English Barclays Premiership
Stephen Carr has warned that we cannot keep giving away head starts in the Premiership.
We've gone behind in three of our four starts so far and yet only once ended up on the losing side. Two of those games have been at home where we've managed to come back from 1-0 down against Ipswich to win 3-1 before topping that against Everton on Tuesday.
This time we recovered from a 2-0 deficit and the loss of Darren Anderton and Ben Thatcher through injury in a disastrous first half before Sergei Rebrov's double and a goal from Les Ferdinand turned it around for a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Raiding down the right flank as usual against Everton, full-back Carr said: "We're making it hard for ourselves and against a better quality team we perhaps won't get away with it, especially conceding two goals. That makes it very difficult.
"We showed a lot of character to get back into the game and it has ended up being a great result for us
"We've plenty of spirit in the side at the moment and we needed it against Everton because we knew we had to show a lot of character to come back. We got that goal just before half-time and that gave us the lift we needed. We came flying out in the second half because we didn't want to let ourselves down at home.
"Having said that, at home, you always feel we've got a chance of getting back into it, especially with the crowd behind us. We can't continue going behind though."
