Carr puts life in perspective
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Stephen Carr put his injury nightmare in perspective and admitted: "It could be worse."
Missing since August, our outstanding Irish full-back has been ruled out for the rest of the season and the World Cup after suffering a setback on his return from a knee injury.
The 25-year-old has got his head around that disappointment and is now determined to kick on for next season.
"It could be a lot worse for me," pondered Steve as he started a period of six to eight weeks rest. "There are people in a lot worse position than me in life.
"Sometimes you have to put in all in perspective, you have to. More important things go on.
"At the time I found out I was devastated but then again, part of me has always thought I could miss out because I was running out of time.
"I just have to be patient. I won't get my head down because I missed a World Cup because at the end of the day there are years down the line.
"Basically I miss the game and I want to play again. It's been a long time now.
"Last season I had a hernia, a knee and then a groin problem, I came back and now a knee problem again.
"Everyone gets their fair share so hopefully that will be it for me.
"People like Chris Armstrong have been out longer and come back. I always think of Willem Korsten. He is only a year older than me and he had to retire.
"I'm not worried. I know I will get back fit. When you get an injury you appreciate what you've actually got a bit more."
