Carr bemused by away form
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Stephen Carr is mystified by our poor away form.
Saturday’s defeat at Aston Villa made it six defeats and a draw in seven matches on the road in the Premiership this season — a stark contrast to home form that reads played six, won five, drawn one.
“I just don’t know what the answer is,” said Carr. “If we knew we would have sorted it out a long time ago. It’s unbelievable how we’re chalk and cheese at home and away.
“It could be a bit physcological and the players not really realising it but I don’t think we’re going into games thinking we haven’t got a result away from home. We just go out and try to win every game.”
What made the defeat at Villa Park worse, according to Carr, was that we failed to do ourselves justice. It would be fair to say that Villa dominated and deserved their 2-0 win while we created very little.
Carr added: “The lads are gutted coming off the pitch because we’re just being unjust to ourselves. We work hard all week preparing for that game and then go out like that. We’re not doing ourselves any credit.
“It’s just important we get together and try to put it right for out next away game — Manchester United. What better place to do it than that?”
