Canada high for Lars
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Lars Hirschfeld takes his turn in the spotlight when Canada take on Scotland in tonight's friendly at Easter Road.
Our number two goalkeeper is currently Canada's number one and is expected to line-up in the international televised live on Sky Sports.
"It's nice to be number one at the moment," he said. "I'd like to hold onto the position but there are some good young goalkeepers around and it will be a battle.
"Scotland had been struggling until the weekend but we're hoping we can put a good game together."
Lars has spent the season on the bench as Kasey Keller's deputy after Neil Sullivan suffered a nasty broken thumb in a training ground injury. Ironically enough, he would more than likely have lined-up against Scottish number one Sully if he was fit.
"This season has been a great experience," he added. "You learn a lot about the game and the pressure that comes with it."
All he needs now is that first taste of first team action. "It would be nice to get the first one out of the way," he said. "But Kasey has been brilliant. You have to take your hat off to him."
