Young defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been named in the US National Team Under-20s squad for the forthcoming FIFA Under-20 World Cup finals in New Zealand.
Our promising Academy centre-half helped the States qualify for the tournament through the CONCACAF Under-20 Championships back in January, playing every minute of every game in Jamaica.
At 17 years old, he is the youngest player named in his nation’s squad for the competition, which runs from May 30 to June 20.
The US will compete in Group A along with New Zealand, Ukraine and Myanmar.
Cameron has made 10 appearances for us in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League this season, in addition to six appearances in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League and five starts in the FA Youth Cup.
