Calderwood's reaction

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Colin Calderwood could not fault the application of his reserve side after they fell to a narrow defeat to Coventry at Stevenage on Wednesday evening.

In freezing conditions on a bone hard playing surface, a goal on the stroke of half-time from City's John Eustace sealed the game. A much improved second half display did not bring the deserved reward, but Colin saw enough in that period to draw positives from the game.

"Although we got beat I was pretty happy with a fair majority of what we did," reflected the Scot. "Some of it we can put down to the conditions but, especially in the second half, we were definitely controlling the game.

"Even in the first half our method of playing was okay. We didn't use the ball as well as we did in the second, but the conditions made it pretty tricky to keep passing and keep moving the ball about.

"People were a little bit unsteady on their feet, but you couldn't say we were uneasy in trying to play the way we did. I could see lots of situations where, on a better night, we would have played a better final ball and would have got in. That contributed against us.

"The only thing we did wrong was not defend a set piece right on half-time - because of that we've ended up losing. So there is a lesson to learn from that.

"The rest of it I quite enjoyed."
