Burnley vs Spurs - Mauricio's preview

05 January 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino prepares to begin this season’s journey in the FA Cup at Burnley stating: “Every competition is important to this club.”

We travel to Turf Moor this evening for a 7.45pm kick-off in the third round.

Burnley impressed at the Lane as we ran out 2-1 winners in the Premier League on December 20.

They’ve lost just three of their last 10 in Premier League action and came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Manchester City last weekend.

Meanwhile, we’re on a run of two defeats in 12 matches in all competitions since mid-November and unbeaten in the last six, winning four of our last five in the Premier League.

“I enjoy the FA Cup and I enjoy every day at this club,” said Mauricio.

“It’s true, every competition Tottenham go into is important for the club and for us it’s important to go to Burnley and try to win the game.

“It will be tough. Every game is difficult, every competition is difficult.

“But it’s our obligation to go to Burnley, try to win and try to go into the next round.”
