Burch calls for bumper gate
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Keeper Rob Burch is hoping for a bumper turn-out at the Lane tonight as our Academy under-18 side seek to reach the final of the FA Youth Cup at the expense of Everton.
There was a good sized noisy crowd at White Hart Lane for the quarter-final victory over Blackburn and Rob is hoping for more of the same as the boys attempt to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg at Goodision Park.
"It would be nice if we had a few more than last time, making lots of noise to help us out," said Rob.
"I think it helps us, it was a good experience for us to hear the crowd when we scored or did something good. When you make a save or something you hear the crowd when you don't normally, so it is good."
Rob says the team are in a confident mood going into the tie, but realises Everton will be a tough nut to crack with the pace of Wayne Rooney and Michael Symes in attack.
"Yes we are. I'm confident in myself and as a team we think we can do it. We're looking forward to it and hope we get the right result.
"They are good up front with the two boys. They are still young and are good players. The midfield looks pretty controlled and relaxed and they defended quite well. A good side.
"We conceded two goals that could have been stopped really. Credit to them as they worked hard, but we haven't let many in.
"We knew they had a long throw and we were sloppy in heading away - we've just got to keep concentrating."
Rob has stood out during the Youth Cup run with his good handling and command of his penalty area. He now hopes the team can take that final step towards a final with either Aston Villa or Barnsley.
"I've done alright, not too bad. I just want to do my bit on the night, do as much as I can and hope we get a couple of goals."
