Brownie back in the fold
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Michael Brown was more satisfied than most following the goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers having made his return to first team action.
The tigerish midfielder was one of three changes made by Martin Jol on the night and it signalled his re-entry into the Premiership fold after four months out with foot and stomach problems.
Brownie was his usual committed self in the heart of midfield but could not alter the course of a scrappy encounter that Blackburn had the better of in possession terms, if not chances.
"It was great to be back in and I was delighted when the gaffer said I was playing," he reacted afterwards, adding he did not expect a recall so soon. "It has been a while and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lads have been doing well, there are players who have come in and getting the nod came a lot sooner than I expected.
"Playing 90 minutes was another bonus, I didn't know whether I would last the game but I did and it is one under my belt after all the hard work.
"The game went alright for me, I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get a win and do more from a team point of view. Personally it was just good to be back and out there.
"It wasn't a good game but, when you have been out for four months, you tend to just enjoy it anyway. We wanted to win the game and that was the only unfortunate thing for me."
Michael suspects, in the long-run, a point at Ewood Park will be viewed as a positive to build on rather than simply two points conceded.
"I think you've got to look at it overall and feel if you take a point from an away game it is a good one. You are doing very well in this league if you are coming away and winning mostly.
"We have come on a lot and we've now got to try and win more games away from home."
