Brown on Bent

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Michael Brown is happy to see his former team-mate Marcus Bent settled and doing well at Everton.

The striker has been a key figure in Everton's fantastic start to the season playing up front on his own in a 4-5-1 system.

It's a demanding role but he's risen to the challenge with six goals as the Toffees sit proudly in fourth in the Barclays Premiership.

Browny played with Bent at Sheffield United in the 1999-2000 season where the striker bagged an eye-catching 20 league goals.

That earned him a move to Blackburn Rovers and he's also had spells at Ipswich, Leicester and, earlier in his career, Brentford, Port Vale and Palace.

"Marcus is a player who has moved around a bit but it looks like he's settled there straight away," said Michael. "He's in the side and he's scored six goals, so he's doing great.

"Leading the line on your own is a tough job for a striker but he has that pace and power about him and he's capable of doing it."

Browny is expecting another tough test against an expected five-man midfield with the likes of Lee Carsley and Thomas Gravesen ready to dig in.

"With Gravesen, Carsley and Cahill all in there, they work hard and we'll have to be on our toes," he added. "They graft and that's a big reason why they are up in the top three or four.

"We'll have to match that effort first and hopefully we can come out the other side."
