Boys to enter the Hornets nest

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Pat Holland is expecting a tough test for his under-18 side when they take on Watford in the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup at Vicarage Road on Thursday, kick-off 7pm.

Our Academy outfit won through to this stage with victories over Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Everton, a challenging sequence of games, the winning of which, Pat explains, has kept this season ticking along nicely.

"It is exciting times and it sets the season up again," considered the coach. "There is a buzz among the kids now, they look forward to the games and it is a nice atmosphere.

"Everton were tough opposition and have a good pedigree as far as the Youth Cup is concerned. We met them three years ago in the Rooney game and went out of the under-17 play-offs to them last season, so we hoped we could turn it around a little bit - and it worked out well for us.

"The cup tends to bind kids together and I think they get caught up in it. We try to prepare them properly, we get information about the opposition, watch them play and have a good idea of what we're up against. The preparation is professional and it what they'll get as they progress towards the senior side of the game."

While Forest, Liverpool and Everton provided something of a step into the unknown for the boys, Watford is familiar territory as they compete in the same Academy section as our team. The Hornets have, in fact, won both league encounters this season.

"We've got tapes of that and I don't think there will be too many changes to the Watford side," added Pat. "They are a bit of a bogey side for us, it is a big game for them playing Spurs and normally they are very hyped up for it.

"I don't expect it to be any different and it will be a really tough game. I fancied them to beat Middlesbrough in the 5th round, they knocked out Newcastle and Coventry and have had a tough route through to this stage."
