Boys still confident

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Charlie Daniels says the boys are 'up for it' as they get ready to take on Ipswich Town in the 2nd leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final at White Hart Lane tonight (7pm).

The left midfielder admits he and his teammates were deflated after the 1st leg at Portman Road on Friday when they came out of the encounter with a two-goal deficit to make up, but says they are still confident of making progress in the competition.

"After the game we were really disappointed, especially with conceding the goals the way we did with two deflections - it is not nice," he reflected.

"All the boys are up for it again now and we are still optimistic about getting a result. We have got Barchy (Andy Barcham) up front and I think he can get behind their defence. We also have flair players like Jacques Maghoma and Jamie O'Hara and I think we can do the business."

Charlie goes along with the thinking of his coach Pat Holland in that the team must not go chasing the game from the off.

"I think we are looking to keep it tight and hopefully nick a goal. That would be a starting point and hopefully we would be able to get a couple more after that.

"It would be nice to get an early goal, but we mustn't rush full steam ahead.

"It would be good to get a few of the Tottenham fans in. It is a help and it is great to have people cheering you, you are focused on the game but you can still hear it."

A scorer at Watford at the quarter-final stage, Charlie is now seeking his first proper goal at White Hart Lane.

"I went to the game on Sunday and the pitch looked lovely - I can't wait to do the business on it.

"I haven't scored there yet - only in a training session when I was about 13 - and it would be really something if I could. I've hit the bar, but we won't talk about that..."
