Tom Carroll tasted victory with Swansea City on Boxing Day.

Our on-loan midfielder played the last half-an-hour as the Swans beat Aston Villa 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium on a full day of action in the Premier League.

A division lower, Alex Pritchard played 90 minutes for Brentford in their 4-2 defeat at home to Ipswich Town while Milos Veljkovic was an unused substitute for Middlesbrough as they won 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest.

In League Two, striker Shaq Coulthirst went on as an 85th minute substitute for Southend United as they triumphed 1-0 at Cambridge United while, on Christmas Eve, Tomislav Gomelt played the last seven minutes for Italian side Bari in their 2-1 defeat at Brescia in Serie B.
