Bournemouth v Spurs - team news
20 October 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Danny Rose faces a late fitness test ahead of our trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
The full-back picked up a knock in Tuesday night’s draw against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
“We need to assess Danny tomorrow,” reported manager Mauricio Pochettino after training on Thursday. “He has a bruised foot. We need to wait to see what happens tomorrow and then see if he’s available or not.”
The news was good earlier in the week on Toby Alderweireld after he was stretchered off at West Brom on Saturday.
Toby’s scan was clear but the defender will still have to sit it out at Bournemouth - it will be the first time he’s failed to start a Premier League match in his time at Spurs, ending a run of 46 consecutive starts.
Mauricio added: “It’s good news on Toby but it’s still painful because it was a heavy knock on his leg. He’s out. He’s doing well but it’s still painful.”
Meanwhile, Harry Kane continues to make good progress and is now running again on his return from an ankle injury.
