BLUES FOR JUANDE

Juande Ramos understandably cut a disappointed figure after Saturday's loss at Birmingham City.

Juande Ramos understandably cut a disappointed figure after Saturday's loss at Birmingham City.

"No manager can be happy after losing a match 4-1," he told reporters after the Barclays Premier League reverse at St Andrews.

In a game where we out-shot the home side 19-13, Juande was left to reflect on conceding an early goal to Mikael Forssell, failing to take our chances and then the Blues capitalising on their opportunities as we pushed forward looking for goals.

Sebastian Larsson curled home a free-kick after 55 minutes and when Forssell added number three four minutes later it was game over. Forssell completed his hat-trick and Jermaine Jenas' goal in the last minute was no more than a consolation.

"The game started in a difficult way for us when we conceded a goal in the seventh minute and I was forced into tactical changes to try and bring a response to that," added Juande.

"The principal problem was the lack of attention on the part of our players. This was the problem we had to try and address to get a response to Birmingham’s play but it didn’t work out for us.

"There are good and bad matches and today Birmingham played a good match and we didn't play as well as we could have done."
