Billy enters record books!
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Our 'Football Freestyler", Billy Wingrove, set an official Guinness World Record at the Club's first One Hotspur Day on Saturday.
The One Hotspur SOS Children's Villages charity day, which included an open training session for fans, provided the perfect backdrop for Billy's record attempt with hundreds of fans spurring him on to achieve his goal.
The record involved the difficult skill of transferring a football from the foot to the neck, in the form of a catch, the most times in one minute. Billy achieved the new record with relative ease making a total of 31 neck-to-foot catches, with the initial target being set at only ten by Guinness.
Billy can now add an official Guinness World Record to his list of achievement in freestyle football, making him one of the most recognised professionals in his field.
Billy was ecstatic with getting his name in the record books, saying: "I've always wanted to be an official Guinness World Record holder and I can now finally say I am. I've been practicing football skills ever since I can remember so to achieve this is a nice reward for the hard work that goes into practicing.
"The work I do with Tottenham Hotspur in the community enables me to practice while hopefully inspiring the next freestyle record breaker.
"One Hotspur Day was all about creating a fun environment for the fans and supporting the Club's international charity partner SOS Children's Villages so I'm just thankful I managed to put smiles on people's faces."
