Biggest test yet for Spurs Ladies
12 November 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
After 13 matches, 12 wins, one draw and 79 goals so far this season - Spurs Ladies face the acid test on Sunday.
The freescoring Spurs travel to Coventry United in the FA Women's Premier League South for a 2pm kick-off.
They are two of three teams with identical records in the FAWPL - played seven, won six, drawn one - alongside Cardiff City.
Throw in old rivals Charlton - 17 points from eight games - and four teams have already broken clear. C&K Basildon are next in fifth, five points behind Spurs having played three games more.
Suffice to say, it looks like the champions will come from the current top four, Spurs are very much in the running and now, for the first time this season, they face one of those rivals.
"It's been a fantastic start to the season and this is our biggest game yet," said manager Karen Hills.
"Coventry are a good side, strong, experienced players but we're focused and confident.
"The players have worked hard all week preparing for this game. We made a number of changes to the team that beat Tonbridge Angels on Thursday (only four regulars started) and a shout out to those players who stepped up and did so well (Spurs won 14-1!). We've a game plan in place and it's up to us to go out there and do it."
