Big win - Ade

Emmanuel Adebayor saw Sunday’s 3-1 success at Swansea as a key win in the Premier League.

The striker netted twice as we weathered an early storm before running out comfortable winners at the Liberty Stadium.

That made it five wins and a draw in our last six matches in the Premier League and moved us up to fifth in the table, level on points with Liverpool in fourth.

It also took our current sequence to five-successive away wins in the Premier League, our best run of form on the road in league action since Bill Nicholson’s great side won 10 on the trot between April-November, 1960, eight of those coming in the double-winning campaign of 1960-61.

“It was important for us to win to keep the pressure on,” said Ade, who has scored five goals in his last six starts in the Premier League.

“It wasn’t easy. The start of the game was a little slow, but when we get going, when we get our momentum right, we’re a tough team to play against. We showed that at Swansea.

“We played good football. We had so many chances and took three. The most important thing was to take the three points and we did that.

“I’m happy to score the goals, happy for the team, happy for everyone. Now we get ready for Manchester City.”
