Big win - Ade
Emmanuel Adebayor knew all about the importance of Sunday's win against Swansea.
The striker powered home two headers to make it 14 goals for the season and 13 in the Premier League to take us level again with Arsenal.
The second goal was key as Ade rose majestically above Swansea's defence to connect with Rafa van der Vaart's corner in the 73rd minute.
That saw us ahead again after the Swans had levelled Rafa's opening goal via Gylfi Sigurdsson's strike just before the hour.
With four minutes left, Ade was there again to head home Aaron Lennon's cross to secure maximum points.
"At half-time I was speaking to Benoit Assou-Ekotto and I said ‘no matter what, no matter how, we need the three points’," revealed Ade.
"I didn’t know how we were going to score again, but we had to win.
"When they came back to 1-1 it was quite difficult in the head for us but we have a good squad, a good belief that we can turn things around and we showed character and personality to do that.
"The win was important for the team, for the fans and hopefully we can go on a good run until the end of the season."
Ade was quick to thank the suppliers for his goals.
"The first one was an amazing corner from Rafa," he added. "When I saw the ball come in I knew if I got a touch, it was going in the net.
"The second was also amazing from Azza. I knew he would chip the ball up, he did that well, I was at the second post, striker’s instinct and just had to finish it. I’m delighted to have scored again."
