Big Tony back on a high
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Anthony Gardner was delighted his rollercoaster week ended on a high against West Ham.
We looked to have thrown away a 2-1 lead against 10-man Hammers when, with two minutes left, the big defender strode forward to strike home the winner with his first goal for the club.
The three points was the perfect boost after the defeat at Fulham last week and gave Anthony a lift having taken his fair share of the blame at Loftus Road.
He reflected: "It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster after the other night.
"I was a bit down after that because of what happened with the penalty but we battled back, full credit to the team and I managed to get the winner in the end. I can't describe how I feel really."
Anthony is aware of the concern that we've conceded sloppy goals in the last two matches.
"Yes, it is a concern," he agreed. "We want to keep clean sheets and go back to defending how we were at the start of the season.
"We'll be looking at that and try tomake sure things like this don't happen again.
"We just needed the three points though. A point wasn't good enough after what happened the other night.
"The gaffer wanted a response and felt he had it. We showed team spirit, never stopped fighting, so what he was looking for we delivered."
